The UK has published a national data strategy, “setting a plan to promote the use and prioritize the reuse of data as a lever for economic growth and digital innovation.” According to this article in TechCrunch, “the top-line message from the secretary of state for digital, Oliver Dowden, is that government wants the ‘high watermark’ of data sharing that’s been seen in the UK during the pandemic to be the new normal for the 2020s — greasing the pipe for ‘businesses, government and organisations to innovate, experiment and drive a new era of growth’, as he puts it.”
